PRONE LEG CURL
The prone leg curl is a targeted isolation exercise designed to strengthen the hamstrings at the back of the thigh. Performed on a leg curl machine, the user lies face down (prone position) with the padded lever placed just above their heels. By contracting the hamstrings, the user pulls the weight upwards, bringing their heels towards their buttocks. This movement primarily engages the hamstring muscles, but also recruits the calf muscles to a lesser extent. It's essential to maintain a controlled motion throughout the exercise to prevent undue strain and ensure the targeted muscles are effectively worked. Proper form and technique are crucial for maximizing benefits and avoiding injuries.
